Description :
As Jamaica’s oldest business associations, the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) believes that entrepreneurship must be encouraged in our society and it is particularly important that the encouragement begin early. We are happy that the current administration for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information embraces this belief as demonstrated in its recent initiative to incorporate the Junior Achievement Company of Entrepreneurs (JACE) programme into the ninth-grade curriculum, making entrepreneurship classes mandatory in all high schools in order to create more rounded individuals.
Consequently, this makes the JCC Young Entrepreneur: Own Your Future conference a more coveted event that provides an excellent opportunity for young persons – from secondary and tertiary institutions in Jamaica, come together to listen to a renowned social entrepreneur and a team of young and visionary Jamaican businesspersons, engage in a motivational and inspirational event aimed at supporting them especially those who believe their calling may be to make their mark as entrepreneurs. The Third staging will take place on Saturday, 2 February 2019 @ 9:30am at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston.
The January 2018 event attracted over 200 participants and we anticipate that the 3rd staging will have even more attendees especially since entrepreneurship classes have become mandatory in all high schools as of September 2018.
